CTTIC Translation Certification Exams

The Canadian Translators, Terminologists, and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) controls this certification exam, which is administered by STIBC in British Columbia. Only STIBC Members in good standing are eligible to register for this exam.

Date and Time: November 28, 2026

English to Other Language: In Person 9 AM – 12 PM PST

English to Other Language: Online 8 AM – 11 AM PST

Other Language to English: In Person 2 PM – 5 PM PST

Other Language to English: Online 1 PM – 4 PM PST

Deadline for Registration*: Thursday, October 29, at 11:59PM

*Please note that full registration is only confirmed upon payment of the exam fee. Any exam fee not received by October 29 will result in the registration not being processed.

Available Language Combinations:

English to Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Persian (Farsi), Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, German, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Ukrainian, Greek, Russian, Urdu.

Eligibility:

• All candidates must be STIBC members (Associate Members or Certified Members) in good standing.

• Affiliate STIBC members should write their exams at their home organization.

• Only Candidates with compelling reasons/ travel restrictions (such as medical reasons or living more than 100km from Vancouver) are eligible to sit the exam online. You may be asked to provide proof for these reasons.

Refund/ Cancellation Policy:

• Candidates registering for a CTTIC exam through STIBC must pay the exam cost ($700 In person or $800 online) + a NON-REFUNDABLE administrative fee of $50.00 + GST.

• Cancellation requests must be received by the Exam Coordinator via email (office@stibc.org) at least 10 business days before the scheduled examination date.

• No refunds will be given for cancellation requests received within 10 business days of the exam. In the case of an officially documented medical reason preventing the candidate from writing the exam, STIBC will refund a percentage of the exam price, subject to CTTIC's refund policy.
