STIBC members preparing to take the CTTIC certification exam from any language into English are invited to join a special series of workshops this fall. The sessions will run from 6pm to 6:50pm on Wednesdays from October 14 to November 18, 2026 (with the exception of Session 5 which will take place on Thursday, November 12), each lasting 50 minutes via Zoom. Designed specifically for candidates aiming to certify from any foreign language into English, the workshops will focus on strategies to strengthen written English, including how to select suitable practice texts, make use of self-correction tools, and avoid common language pitfalls. A highlight of the program is the inclusion of a full practice exam in the participant’s chosen language combination, which can be completed from home and is included in the registration fee. The workshops will be led by Silvia Xalabarde, an experienced translator and interpreter and current president of STIBC, who brings extensive knowledge of the CTTIC certification process. Silvia will share insights into what examiners look for and provide practical advice to help candidates prepare with confidence. Places are limited (minimum 8, maximum 12 participants), and all sessions will be recorded. Registration will close on October 7. Once registered, participants will receive their Zoom invitation and are asked to send their chosen language combination for the practice exam to office@stibc.org.
